Omaigod omaigod omaigod! Yesterday was craaaaaaaaazeeeey! I got to see Kimora Lee Simmons LIVE in Malaysia. She tweeted about #KLSTwtUp a day before, saying she's gonna have a meet and greet at Rootz Club, Kuala Lumpur. I didn't plan to go at all but a friend of mine randomly asked me and shockingly, I agreed to accompany her.

We arrived at 7pm and waited for 4 hours just to see her. We were screaming and pushing each other just to take her photograph. Honestly, it was worth the wait. Kimora Lee Simmons was super fine wearing a Farah Khan's collection yesterday. She is slim, tall, very pretty and definitely very² friendly.

I didn't have the chance to take pictures with her because I went back early but I was so happy that I got to see her with my own eyes. She was a feet away from me but too bad, I couldn't take her photographs...technical problems with my camera. Sheeesh.

It was one hell of a crazy night. The best part about yesterday was meeting new and old friends. A new beginning! Cheers!

I host a potluck-get-together with my gossip girls a couple of months back. The table was full of delicious food and desserts that neither of us can resist. As for moi, I made my specialty dish, Spaghetti Bolognaise. Wooohoooo. Other than that, we had nasi impit, kuah kacang, tuna casserole, cakes, caramel, ice creams, cakes, cakes and cakes. Yes, there were more than five different kind of cakes that night. Yummers.

As usual, we had lotsa fun talking and gossiping bout each others' life and not forgetting, photo session at the end of the night. Weeeeeee. It was a geat catch up, especially with Nurisa's baby bumped, Wani is getting married and Yuyu's cat fight incident. Well, I love my girls so much. They are cray cray for sure. Heee. :)

Hello darlings, how are you? Sorry I haven't been blogging for a couple of months. I've been really busy at the moment. Life is really hectic and I don't even have time for myself. It has been a month since my new semester starts and I've been working part time at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

FYI, I've changed my blog account and email for it's Farah Kamal (new profile and new image) but no worries, I kept my blog name and url. So, for anybody who wants to contact me, you can just email me at xfajeszx@gmail.com :)

I noticed there's a lot of change in blogger.com and I'm still learning the new features, although I am currently using the old version. What say you? New or old is better?

My first Syawal was fun but a bit tiring. I went to 4 houses that day and each house are so far away from one another. In the morning, my family and I had a Malay Hari Raya Traditional Food at home. Mom and grandma cooked Ketupat, Kuah Lodeh, Sambal Kacang and Ayam Masak Merah...and it was absolutely delicious!! This year I invited my Maldivian classmate/friend/mami, Shary, to join us for Eid && she loves it :D

Second house is usually Mak Ana's house and she lives 5 minutes away. Weeeeee...Thank god she cooked Laksa Johore for us. Love it so much. Yummers. Later, we went to Tok Teh's house in Bangi, Tok Cu's house in Taman Tun Dr Ismail and lastly, Sya's house in Taman Sri Ukay.

I think I ate too much food on that day & might even gained few pounds. *Sigh* But overall, I had delicious fooods all over til my tummy looked like a gigantic ball. Hehe. Happy tummy! Here are some of the pics from first eid :)

Wow, can you believe Ramadhan is almost over?! I had so much fun over the past weeks, good and bad ones. I can't wait for eid next weeeeek. I hope I will still get "duit raya" from my family. Hehe. I haven't buy any new clothes for eid yet but I will, SOOON!

Anyways, as few of you know, dad had a surgery on the third day of Ramadhan. Just wanna let you know, he's fine Alhamdulillah. He's still going to the hospital everyday for his physiotherapy but he's getting better day by day. He can drive on his own now and use his left hand to hold light things. Insya Allah, he will be back on the field in no time :)

I put together pictures I took from my phone over the past weeks. Met some old friends and make some new ones. Thanks for making me happy ladies and gents. Heart you. xo

My Saturday

Last Saturday was a busy day for me. I was out from morning til midnight. I had so much fun spending the day with my gossip girls. Love them to the bits. The girls include Sanirah, Dee, Siti, Hana, Yuyu, Wanie, Ssa and Jaja, but Ssa and Jaja couldn't make it.

In the morning, I help out Dee and San to open their booth at Soho Solaris Mont Kiara. It's an event by KL Bazaar. I was there from 11am-6pm. San's clothes are really nice and affordable. She haven't set up her blog yet, will inform you guys if its up. I bought few for myself too. Who can resist chiffon tops?! Hehe.

Later, we went to Porto Romano, Mont Kiara for our iftar. We all had pasta and honestly, I love the taste, especially the Seafood Aglio Olio. We didn't try their pizza but definitely will in the future! Yummers.

As usual, the girls would love to have desserts after. So, we went to Baskin Robbins, Mont Kiara. It's nearby but we decided to drive. Wani drove there with her car, yes, seven people in one car!! It's not even Odyssey or Alphard, it's Proton Saga! We have to cramped our selves in a Proton Saga. Lucky me for sitting in front alone. HAHA.

While we were at Baskin Robbins, someone suggested we go karaoke and everybody said yes. Weeeee. Overall, we had an awesome girls day out and lovely time talking. Even though, few of us were tired but it was all worth it. I love my melawatian girls. xoxo

Someone Like You

Last week, I met with my old friend NF. We haven't met for almost two years and it was really shocking to see that he changed a lot. He used to be skinny but now, he's all big, tall and tough. @___@ We haven't really talk in awhile, so we IM for few days and decided to meet up and catch up with things. I didn't mention anything about my break up etc but he figured it out himself.

Well, talking and meeting him made me realized that there's a lot of jerks out there. I'm not saying all, but most of them?! It's really hard to find a decent guy in this new era. I rather be single and happy than being in a bad relationship.

Anyways, while NF was driving, a song came up on the radio and suddenly he said he dedicate the song to me and tell me to move on. It was "Someone Like You" by Adele. I was really touched because he actually listens to what I've said :) The song is practically stuck in my head and I've been listening to it every single day since that day. Thanks NF.

Majlis Berbuka Puasa bersama Anak-Anak Yatim Rumah Kasih Harmoni (RKH)

Last Friday - 19th August 2011, Atisya and I went to berbuka puasa with my ex-boss, Dynas and others at Rumah Kasih Harmoni in Sungai Buloh. We arrived on time for berbuka and ate delicious malay cooking such as rendang, ikan bakar, sup tulang, tom yam etc.

Little did we know that the rendang was rendang arnab @____@ We got to know after we finished the whole meal. *GULP* Luckily, we didn't know earlier or else Sya and I won't eat it. Honestly, it tasted like beef.

Anyways, I didn't manage to snap pictures using my DSLR, only few pics using my Blackberry and it's not clear. BOO!

It's great that Dynas and friends did this to help them. They looked so happy when they got their "duit raya" and presents. Mom, cousins, friends and I donated some money to them and I hoped they get everything they needed, Insya Allah. I'm so glad that I can be a part of this. Thanks Dynas for inviting. xo

Fatty Crab for Iftar

Yesterday, my girls and I had Iftar at Fatty Crab, Taman Megah. Iftar is an evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan. All ze girls were there except for Yanti, she has other plans and can't join us.

Fatty Crab Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurant PERIOD. They serve Chilli Crabs, Steamed Crabs, Fried Chickens, Fried Rice, Prawns, Fishes and etc. My favorite dish is the Chilli Crabs, especially the sauce, it is absolute yummers!! We always eat it with toast breads. *DROOLS*

We paid less than RM100 for everything. Isn't it cheap? Can't wait to go there again and again. It's my dad's favorite too. Fatty Crab FTW!! xo

It's been a year since my grandfather took his last breath. Life has been different since he passed away. Just last weekend, my cousin, mom and I were talking bout Arwah Bak Tok. How he always asked us to go out for a coffee late at night and got so excited...he will shout "Jom minum kopi, saya belanja!!"

I really miss my Arwah Bak Tok and Mak Tok. They were the closest grandparents I ever had. Insya Allah, I will visit their grave this weekend at Johore. Al-Fatihah.

Friends and I opened a booth at Urbanscapes on July 16th, 2011. We sell clothes from Australia and hand made accessories. It was really tiring because we were there from 9am til about 10pm. The crowd was overwhelming. Saw lots of people with the interest of music, art and fashion.

It was a success business for us, Alhamdulillah. Thank you Urbanscapes for the opportunity. Thank you friends for helping. I hope we could do this again next year. xoxo

I was depressed for few weeks because I broke up with "M". At first, there was no explanation about everything but now, i know the reason.

I am a proud Muslim but I haven't been praying for months. Honestly, I am not proud of it. Since I got back from London, M's attitude changed completely. He gave excuses about his family not liking me and etc etc etc. I was depressed, crying for days and weeks, haven't eat any proper meal and locked myself alone in the room. I gave excuses to my family that I was still jet-lag from my trip. I got paranoid and crazy at M for days. I was really down and broken but I tried to get up slowly, meet my friends, talk to people, jogging and etc.

So one day, my friend, Pinky, asked me to start praying. She said it will make me calm. So on that day itself, I tried remembering all the Surah, Doa, and start googling/reading books about Solat² Sunat etc and I took my wudu' and pray. Alhamdulillah it did make me calm and alive until today.

Months before, I heard my friends were talking about Solat Istikharah and I started reading about it. So, I did my Solat Istikharah 5 days in a row, mentioning M's name everytime. At first, I didn't see any signs at all but I made a decision to break it off.

Days after days until Ramadhan came, God wanted to show me the real him. I got to know A LOT. I was shocked but at the same time, I was relieved. Allah SWT is so great to show me all of these and I know now the reason why he changed. It was not his family at all. He's been lying to me all these while.

I am not perfect and I do made mistakes, but God is answering all my prayers, once at a time. He showed me before it was too late. Yes, I am hurt, my heart is burning but I am so relieved!

I came clean to M's sister about my past and our past. I have nothing to hide anymore. I definitely, don't want him anymore. I know he will tell different stories to his family or friends or others but I am not. My friends are my proves. They were there when I was alone. I was honest, loyal and did not lie. Although, I'm a bit clingy @__@

I have known him for 7 years and now, I saw his true colors. I told my family about him and they were so shocked. My mom said "God is so great, He revealed to you now before it's too late, M's indeed a womanizer" while my aunt said "Your mom prayed for you in front of Kaabah, and now God is showing you the truth". I am so touched by their words && thanks to my favorite cousin, Kak Ana for brain washed me from Day 1 until now. Although it was harsh but I know she's just protecting me from jerks like him.

In Doa Solat Istikharah, it mentioned ..

"..Engkau Maha Kuasa sedangkan aku tidak berkuasa. Engkau Maha Mengetahui sedangkan aku tidak mengetahui dan Engkau mengetahui segala yang tersembunyi..."

These sentences have been repeatedly playing in my mind and Alhamdulillah for everything He showed me. I am so blessed that all these happened, because now, I am more closer to God than before and I am stronger than ever.

Other than that, I am so blessed to have friends that are willingly to listen to all my craps and be there whenever I need them. My friends are so great. Thank you so much for being there when I'm down. Atisya, Yanti, Megat, Fatin, San, Siti, Yuyu, Dee, Khalida, Allan, Qish, Nana, Shery, Noora, Pink and my followers. I appreciate each and every single one of you. *hugsss*

I am fine, I moved on and my past has made me wiser and better. Thank you M for reminding me why I can't trust and depend on anybody else but myself. xoxo

Bonjour. Yes yes, I went to Paris. Paris is definitely different from London. Paris has a lot of historical building, different architecture from London and plenty of handsome men. Yes, PLENTY!! Even the bus driver looks like Beckham. HAHA.

We stayed at an apartment near Rue Rambuteau, it's near the Centre Georges Pompidou. The apartment is really pretty, exactly the same as in the picture online. Walking distance to the Metro Train Station, Restaurants, Drug Store, banks, money charger and our favorite halal restaurant.

I went up to the Eiffle Tower, went to the Lourve and saw Monalisa, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge, La Fayette Gallery, Champs-Elysees and more. It's an really amazing city and 4 days is not enough. Thank god for the "Hop On-Hop Off" bus for making it short.

We purchased 2 coupons of RM13 for a Set Meal of Soup (4 Choices) + Main (3 Choices) OR Pasta (5 Choices) + Beverage (2 Types) Worth Up to RM26 at Silver Spoons, The Strand from Dealmates.

The Strand is located in Kota Damansara. Not that hard to find, but thank god for Atisya's GPS from her Torch, we managed to find the restaurant.

The restaurant is filled with family and students from opposite building when we arrived. It was a good thing because the environment was not too quiet and not too noisy. If it's too quiet, then we won't be that comfortable to take pictures or chat to one another. If it's too noisy, then I'll get annoyed very easily.

They were very well prepared for the Dealmates' Customers. They made a special menu with lamination upon arrival, so, it's easier for us to choose which is which. Kudos for that!

The mushroom soup and garlic bread were very dainty. I prefer this kind of mushroom soup rather than the flour-kind-of-mushroom-soup. Carbonara and chicken chop were delicious as well. At then end of the day, my tummy was very happpy! Weeeee. BURP! Alhamdulillah.

The food price in Silver Spoons is not so bad after all, it's cheap and affordable. Bring your friends & drive up to The Strand now! xoxo

Bread Basket, The Sphere

I purchased a coupon from MilkADeal, RM15.90 instead of RM36.80 for 2 Sandwiches + 2 Pastries + 2 Savouries + 2 Hot Drinks at Bread Basket, The Sphere Bangsar.

I went with my co-pilot, Atisya & we drove about an hour from Ampang to this location because we were lost somewhere in Bangsar. I actually knew the place is near University Malaya & Pantai Hillpark, but I have no idea how to go there from Telawi.

It was a rainy day & we were lost until NPE Highway with a blinking petrol. GPS from Atisya's Torch was not helping at all. However, we managed and arrived safely at The Sphere, Bangsar South.

The Sphere is a new place with full of restaurants upstairs and a supermarket one level down. It is near an office building & I pretty sure it catered for the people who is working in that building.

Bread Basket is on the right side from the parking space. It's a tiny bakery shop owned by Dato' Chef Wan. Little did we know that for that amount, the portion would be HUGE. I like the sandwich, the bread is different from what I've tasted before. Nom nom nom! We brought home the left overs cause it was too many and I was fulled.

If I ever go to The Sphere, would definitely go to Bread Basket again because it's delicious and really cheap! Good job Chef Wan, we love it so much! :D

Yesterday, after I had my breakfast, somebody was in front of the house. I ignored it because I never thought it would be anything for me or etc.

I was calling Malik at that time, to pretend to get mad for not messaging me the day before, then my mom screamed, "Farah, there's a flower for you!!"

Shockingly but true, I got my first flower from a guy. Weeeeee. So excited!!! I called him after and screamed because I was too happy. Hehe.

The Roommate Review

I was given a pair of passes to watch The Roommate screening yesterday at One Utama by Nuffnang! Wooohoooo. I brought my mom with me cause my friend, Atisya had to go to Ipoh for family matter. The synopsis are as follows.

The Roommate cast are Leighton Meester as Rebecca, Minka Kelly as Sarah, Cam Gigandet as Stephen, Alyson Michalka as Tracy and Danneel Ackles as Irene.

The movie is about a college student, Sarah moving in to a hostel and has a roommate, named Rebecca. At first, Rebecca seems normal and shy, although a bit weird, but overall, she looked normal as a human being.

Later, as time goes on, Rebecca started to become obsessive with Sarah and try to eliminate her friends by harassing and scared them off. Sarah didn't know bout her real attitude until she met her parents. The parents didn't tell her much but the mother did mention about Rebecca's medication intake.

Sarah search her roommate's desk and found a bottle of pills and did a research on it. It stated that the medication is only for patience with psychological and schizophrenic sickness. Although she knew bout it, she still treated Rebecca as her friend until Rebecca had the same tattoo as Sarah. Rebecca then became violent from time to time to Sarah and her friends.

The movie is categorized as a Drama/Thriller movie and from my point of view, I'll give this movie 7/10. The story line and plot is fine by me but it lacks of explanation.

The home town part was a bit too short for me and the movie should show Rebecca's past from their parents or flash back etc. We certainly do know there's another girl from her past (where she bumped into at the Coffee Shop) but we do not know the real story.

Other than that, I think everything's A-OK! I enjoyed the movie and I still love Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf. LOL! :)

Moral of the story.... never trust anybody and get comfortable with someone you just met. You'll never know what she's hiding behind her closet. Be careful boys and girls! Muahahahahaha.

So, don't forget to watch The Roommate, movie will be showing this Thursday, April 21st, all over Malaysia! Weeeeee. Thanks to Nuffnang for the passes. xoxo

Friends & I were in KLCC few days ago and because I was craving for Padi House Cyberjaya, we decided to go to Padi House in KL. It is located at Jalan P.Ramlee, beside Passion Club, same row as Aloha, Beach Club etc.

The restaurant is a 2 storey building and has an open air session upstairs. They made the downstairs decoration ala "kopitiam" style and upstairs, look more like a restaurant.

The menu here is a bit different from Padi House Cyberjaya (or maybe in Cyberjaya they've changed it too? I don't know! Haven't been there for a year now), they served roti bakar etc and they don't have my favorite, Chicken Chop Rice! They do have similar kind of Chicken Chop Rice but they added Butter in it. I ordered Crispy Fried Chicken Rice with Mushroom Sauce and Apple Juice while Sya & Tee ordered Butter Chicken Chop Rice.

Food was delicious, Alhamdulillah, but I think Padi Cyberjaya has more strategic location and served better ( and memories! hehe ). Total amount spent was around RM15 each.

This is for my assignment, a short story with 3 illustrations. The title is An Alana's Tale. I used Adobe Illustrator for my illustrations & my target audiences are children. Enjoy.

Alana came from a wealthy family. She rarely plays outside with her friends because her parents forbid her from going out. Her mother always tells her not to go to the woods at the back of their house because it is full of wild life.

One day, Alana had an argument with her mother and ran away to the woods. While walking in the dark woods, she saw a door and without any doubt, she opened the door and walked into it.

She was surprised yet happy that she walked into a world that she never saw before. Then, after walking down and up the hill, she saw an apple tree. She was hungry so she ate the apple.

Suddenly she felt dizzy and the world seems changing. Little did she know that actually she was changing into a monster. She tried to find her way back home but there was no use. She regretted that she didn’t listen to her mother’s advice and was stuck in there forever.

Last Friday was my last day out with my girls because I'm starting my second year on Monday. So as promised, I had to treat Yanti for lunch because I didn't have time to celebrate her birthday last year. I thought of using my MilkADeal coupons I bought a week before, and walaaaa...we went to Dish Deli at Solaris Mont Kiara.

The place was quiet at first but then, after gossiping and one of us started to tell ghost stories, you can guess how it went. Dish Deli is a nice quiet cafe beside Mamak Bestari. The menu is quite simple. it has appetizers, salad, sandwich, pasta, main course, desserts and also kid's menu.

Friends and I ordered Beef Lasagna, Pasta & Chicken Casserole. What I can say is everything was delicious. It felt like a home cook meal from overseas. Lasagna was soft, tender and yummmy while Chicken Casserole was delightful. On nom nom nom.

We ordered Apple Crumble with Ice Cream for desserts and OH-MY-GOD! It tasted soooo goooood!! You guys have to try it!!!! Overall, the lunch date was really pleasant. The ghost stories made me wide awake the whole night. LOL!

Atisya & I went for a healthy breakfast at BreadTies, Taman Melawati on Wednesday Morning. It is located near BHP/Caltex Petrol Station, same row as Klinik Idzham. It is a new bakery shop and because we had the time of our life, we decided to try it once and for all.

I'm lovin' the design of the shop and the interior. Very English + wooden style. No pets allowed in but they have a smoking zone outside. Good new for the guys? Hehe.

So we shared Mix Grilled Chicken Sandwich and some Iced Peach Tea. I can say that the food was fresh, the bread was soft & it's delicious while the drinks was absolutely tasty. On nom nom nom. We spent RM28 for two! So, what are you guys waiting for?! Call up some friends and head to BreadTies now!! :)

On Tuesday, while we were at Empire Shopping Gallery, we decided to have desserts. I recommended us to go to Whisk. They sell cakes, macarons, pies and some other light dish. So we had 4 macarons (I have no idea what flavors we ordered) and Mochaccino Con La Nutella for drinks.

It was Qish's first time eating macarons & she's lovin it! Woohoooo! Whisk has the most unique deco ever, looks a bit of vintage + pop + western & it is definitely comfy. It's the best place to have a coffee-desserts and chitchat with your friends.

Happy birthday to my mother, Jamilah Othman. You're 55 today! Weeee.. Although you're far away in Mecca, I know that you're happy there cause Allah SWT is with you. I just wanna let you know that I love you so much and I appreciate everything you've done for me.

Thank you for giving birth to me and raise me well. I don't know how to repay you but I promise I'll make you proud. You gave me so much and always be there when I need you. Despite from all the arguments etc, you should know I never meant to hurt you, ever.

Thank you for sending me to different schools and colleges before, and without your understanding and blessing, I will not be in Raffles Design today. You've been working hard since I've remembered and went through ups and downs. I promise that I will work hard for my future & give you money every month so you can just sit at home and relax.

As you all already know, I am a plus size lassy. I love to check on H&M's and Forever 21's website, then walaaaaaa..I found out about Faith 21. Faith 21 is the plus size version of Forever 21 and there is none of it in Malaysia. I repeat, NONE!

The price is quite reasonable too, so I bought 4 items for less than RM200. There's no shipping to Malaysia, so I asked them to send it to my friend's place in US. Happy to know that if I purchased $50 & more, the shipping fee is waived. I just need to pay my friend $20 for shipping to Malaysia. Isn't this good news for me?

I'm gonna buy myself clothes from H&M and Forever21 every month for less than RM200! Weeeeee. I will do anything for fashion! xoxo

Today, I went out to treat my niece, Qish, a lunch for getting straight A's for SPM. So, I decided to go somewhere I never been to. Did some research & Google few food blogs & I found this place in Empire Shopping Gallery. It's The Vanilla Place at Level 1, infront of Toys'R'Us.

We ordered Beef Nachos for Appetizer. Then, had Beef Lasagna &Aglio Olio Pasta for main course. I ordered Apple Juice while Qish had Vanilla Oreo for drinks. The food was not bad at all. We enjoyed our lunch by gossiping & taking pictures. There was nothing to complaint. Total amount spend was RM65.

The Deepest Secret

In Typography class, we had to do a typo expression by using only typeface & that means no images at all. I took few parts of the poem that I really like, by EE Cummings titled I carry your heart.

The poem is mostly an expression about love, but in my situation I wanted to make it as a vow on wedding day. So, I decided to make a fancy yet elegant card. Below is the final design I did.

I chose blue because Malik likes blue :) I can give this to him when he comes back.

One of the task assignment I had to do was 2 pages of magazine spread. The theme was L O V E . Love is a wide topic such as friendship, pets, games etc. So, I decided to do on make up. Yes, love for make up!

First had to come up with 3 different ideas. Sketch all 3 and chose which is the best. Sketch must be approved by my lecturer & below is the winner!

Researched and googled make up design on the net & found the perfect make up design that I can apply on the model's face. It took about 2 hours on the make up only. There was a lot of distraction & procrastinate.

After all the shoots, it's time to edit the photos & transform the pictures taken as similar as the sketch. It was hard because of the bad lighting and camera angle. Edited few pictures but there was something wrong, somewhere. Even my lecturer commented about the necklace & tees that the model is wearing. So, after combining few pictures altogether, I finished up my assignment with the title "Pretty In Love". Yeay!

Mushroom Aglio Olio

Aglio Olio is one of my favorite pasta & I love to share it to all. It's easy to make and will only take you about 20minutes to cook. On nom nom nom.

Ingredients

Pasta
Sliced Garlic
Crushed Garlic
Sliced Mushrooms
Black pepper
Basil
Oregano
Olive Oil
Salt

Preparation

Boil the pasta with water & add up a pinch of salt.
In a sauce pan, pour Olive Oil over low to medium heat.
Cook the mushroom first & toss it for a couple of minutes until the mushroom is starting to brown.
Put the sliced,crushed garlic & toss it for a few minutes.
When the pasta is ready, pour it in the saucepan together with the black pepper, basil, oregano & salt.
Stir it up for 2 minutes then it's done.

Yes, yes, u heard me right. I'm on diet plans. Well, 1st off I've been goin to the gym 3 times a week now && thanks to dear boyfie for the e-book, Lose 5kgs in 5 weeks, he bought from Kevin Zahri.

So, actually the e-book is quite useful. Gives more knowledge bout our food intake, calories & etc. So, I'm going for:

Meatballs

I made my own meatballs yesterday. Surprisingly it was easy and delicious :) I'm gonna share my recipe to all.

Ingredients

Minced Meat
Chopped Onion
Black pepper
Basil
Oregano
1 Egg White
Olive Oil
Salt

Preparation

Mix all ingredients together,except for Olive Oil. Do add a bit of water. Mixture should be moist but not so that the meatballs fall apart.
Shape meatballs to desired size and place it on a plate or pyrex.
Place a hot towel on top of the plate to make the meatballs stay from falling apart.
Fry the meatballs in a hot medium temp. of olive oil for 1 minute. Make sure it's brown on all side of the meatballs.
Place back meatballs on the pyrex and put it in the oven.
Bake at 180degrees for about 10 minutes then you're done.

Shape meatballs to desired size and place it on a plate or pyrex.

Place a hot towel on top of the plate to make the meatballs stay from falling apart.

No harm of trying this at home ladies. Tell me how does it goes.

This sem I have 4 subjects; Typography 1, Page Layout, Applied Illustrator and ARCS. In my Applied Illustrator class, we had to do book covers and the theme is OPPOSITE. So, I decided to do on "Traditional VS Modern". My concept is using Malaysian traditional/modern kebaya for the cover.

Little did I know that I am good in designing clothes. Hehe. I mean, yes I've worked at two retail outlets before and I have my own online shopping blog, but I didn't know that I can design clothes. Just look at the picture below.

Celebratin Ros Ayuni's Bday

My Gossip Girls & I celebrated Yuyu's 22nd birthday at Musa Fashion Cafe, KL. Her birthday was supposed to be on Dec 29th but everybody was busy etc so we decided to celebrate on Jan 14th 2011.

Musa Fashion Cafe is a fashion boutique + cafe concept, located at Avenue K, KL (Opposite of KLCC). They sell designers' clothes and served very delicious finger foods and meals. Musa Fashion Cafe is owned by Nazreem Musa, a person I knew from Sri Utama & I think that he won't even recognize me anymore. Haha.

The upstairs interior was very girl-power-pretty. It has various kind of unique chairs, sofas, tables and even pillows. They also served Shisha at the smoking area (outside).

Farid, Yuyu's boyfriend bought a Velvet Cake at Bisou Cafe, KLCC and as you can see at the picture below, the cake is super pretty. I was surprised with the taste because it is absolutely DELICIOUS!! on-nom-nom!

We gave Yuyu a Wedding Book as a present because she's getting married end of this year! Wooohooooooo! Congrats love!! Can't wait for you big day!

Happy New Year to everybody. Hoped everybody is in good condition. Life has been really hectic for me. I have tons of assignments and workloads to be done in a short period of time. *Sigh*

Anyhow, let's begin with my journey to Singapore. :)

On 29 Dec 2011, Sya & I went to Singapore by Tiger Airways. It's been awhile since I've been in an airplane. I was really paranoid when the plane took off, recited a lot of doa & prayers for my safety. Even experienced a bit of turbulence, but Alhamdulillah, I landed at Changi Singapore Airport Terminal 2 around 12AM, 30 Dec 2011. Thanks to Sya's bf, Hadi for picking us up at the airport. We stayed at Tee's place on our first night & had supper at Tang Tea House at .... I can't remember the name -___-" The food was delicious and cheap, the place is very clean and superb services!

We went there for 6 days and yes, I experienced the Singaporean life styles. We even went to a Singaporean Malay wedding. Similar as us but very odd food were served. Delicious but odd! Ze best part of Singapore is d Orchard Road!! It was crazeeeeeeeeeeeeh! The shopping is the shiznit! I would love to go to Singapore again soon just to shop shop and shop!

One of my favorite place is the Mc Cafe. Surprisingly cheap and delicious! We even tried the MOS Burger, it's a Japanese fast food restaurant. It's not Halal though but I just ate the Unagi Rice Burger. It's really good, tasted like Sushi only bigger.

Walking in Singapore was really tiring, had to buy a new pair of comfortable flip flops because we walked so far until we reached at the Marina Bay. One word to describe Marina Bay is WOW. The building is very unique, it has a giant skate board on the top floor combining all the 3 buildings together. The skate board thingy is called Marina Sands. We didn't have the chance to go up on the top floor because of the crowd. Too many people queuing!!! Nonetheless, the lobby and jockey are really² classy and pretty.

One of the nights, we went for dinner and club at Clark Quay. The place is like The Curve + Changkat, only much better. We celebrated our New Year's Eve at a place called Blu Jazz Cafe. It is similar like Palete Palete + Cloth&Clef, very the lapsap - electro/pop/future style. Lovin' the crowd and place because it's not that pack and the people were very friendly! KUDOS Singaporeans!

The journey really boost up my confidence and yes, I will come back again for more! See you guys soon, Singapore!

I lived in Taman Melawati since I was 4 years old and Taman Melawati is located near Ulu Klang, but falls under the jurisdiction of Kuala Lumpur. Since I was there, I heard all of the landslide disaster happened from The Highland Tower collapsed in 1993 to Bukit Antarabangsa landslide in 2008.

1993

"The Highland Towers collapse was an apartment building collapse that occurred on 11 December 1993 in Taman Hillview, Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The collapse of Block One of the apartments caused the deaths of 48 people and led to the complete evacuation of the other two blocks due to safety concerns."

1999-Bukit Antarabangsa

"In May 1999, more than 10,000 residents at Bukit Antarabangsa received an alarm when a few major landslides occurred and cut off the access road to Bukit Antarabangsa. Thousands of residents in the condominium located adjacent to the landslides were also evacuated. Fortunately, there were no fatalities."

"A bungalow collapse that occurred on 20 November 2002, in Taman Hillview, Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia when the bungalow of the Affin Bank chairman General (RtD) Tan Sri Ismail Omar collapsed causing a landslide. Five people were killed and more than eight others are feared buried in a landslide in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ulu Klang, near Kuala Lumpur. The landslide, which is believed to have buried 14 bungalows in Taman Bukit Mewah and Taman Bukit Utama, occurred at about 4 a.m."

I lost a friend at the 2008 landslide in Bukit Antarabangsa. He was my classmate when I was in SRK Taman Melawati 1 and SMK Taman Melawati, his name is Shaiful Khas Shahrudin. All these tragedies took someone's life just in a second. We can't do anything for the past but what can we do is to prevent something like this to happen again.

Most of the cause of all these disasters happened because of water. The houses/buildings was located just right beside a mountain/hill and of course there are water streams somewhere in the mountains, or somewhere under the ground. In Malaysia, the monsoon season starts around November until the end of January and this means that raining will be pouring mostly everyday and heavily and caused our earth to be wet most of the time of this season. Get it?!!

So, as you all know mountains/hills are not stable. God Almighty can just make it happen anytime HE wants. We can't do anything bout it except for prevent any buildings/houses to build near the mountains. But then again, everybody needs money. They do anything for money.

Let me remind you that when you're dead, you can't take that money with you down under. Money is not everything, it just makes you happy.

As in today, you can see that mountains and hills around KL are being destroyed by all these constructions building new houses/condos/bungalows and don't get me wrong they are all really pretty, glamorous and all but is it safe? Nobody knows it but Him.

Friends and I were talking bout The Highland Tower Disaster few days ago and at the time of the topic was brought up, friend was driving around KL area and told us that one of the condo around there might just be the next Highland Tower.

Hey, this is only a prediction, we do not know what will happen in the future. Maybe the person is correct but it can be wrong too. It's all in God Almighty's hand. Just be extra careful guys. Just pray for our safety. Amin.

It's been awhile since I last post a blog, I was packed with assignments and classes. So, as you can see at the title, I'm goin to talk about Ayam Penyet. Ayam Penyet is an Indonesian food and now it is well know in Malaysia. You can find it every where in KL but not all of it is as good as in the Indonesia.

I am a big big BIG fan of Ayam Penyet. This is because I love chicken so much & you can say that Ayam Penyet completes my world. I was introduced to Ayam Penyet from a friend in Malacca, once @ Ixora Condo Food Court and another @ R&R (Bukit Beruang, Malacca-near MMU). As a fan, I went to a lot of Ayam Penyet Restaurants and let me rank from the top!

Recently, I saw a sign at Medan Selera= "Ayam Penyet Indonesia". So, one evening I asked my brother to buy me the Ayam Penyet.

Shockingly but true, it was not what I've expected. The Ayam Penyet was not "Ayam Penyet" at all. They put ayam goreng kunyit, cucumbers, tauhu & tempe goreng, sup and sambal belachan. I was like..."hmmm..even my mom can cook better than this" *sigh* That was the worst ayam penyet ever! Don't go there! EVER!

Oops, am I allowed to say those things here?! Sorry to the owner, but you have to improvised your meal :)

Lasagna

On Sunday, Noora, my Finnish classmate invited us to her home for lasagna. She lives at Villa Puteri, near PWTC. I went there with Sharyhan (my Maldivian classmate) and surprise surpise, we both wore purple on dat day, so, we both forced Noora to wear something purple to match with us.

Noora lives on the 28th floor and it was the highest I ever been to. The top floor of the condo is the 40th floor. @____@

So we waited for Alvin and Arron to come with the drinks and chips. We were so hungry because Shery and I didn't have lunch earlier. Lucky for us, Noora's housemate gave us Godiva dark chocs, yummy! I love dark chocs.

When they came, we made the table and the smell of lasagna was so tempting. I was drooling and can't take my eyes of the food.

We played UNO card while havin the chips. At first, we played the Malaysian way, then we tried the Maldivian way, and yes, the Maldivian way was more exciting. Shery created two monsters that night (Alvin and Arron) because they took all the spare cards as their own. We were laughing and screaming and I really enjoyed the night. Noora kept saying "this is a stupid game". LOL.

Dad came back home for the weekend. He looked different since I last met him. He got a new hair cut which really look ridiculous. He told us that he stayed at Hotel Seri Malaysia in Kuala Terengganu and on dat very 1st night, he said he can't sleep at all because he felt someone else sleeping beside him. @____@

After 2 days or so, he got his own room and yes, he's happy alone; a room with air cond, tv, and such but there's no kitchen. He rent a homestay room, maybe just for a temporary period of time. Mom is still looking for a small house for him to stay.

I think my dad got culture shocked stayin in KT, I mean the village lifestyle. We stayed in KL for more than 20 years and dad originally was from Bandar JB. It's BANDAR! He said the best thing there is Mydin. LOL!

Last Saturday, we went to Mak Ana's house for my late Mak Tok and Bak Tok's tahlil. It was just my mom's siblings and few us cousins. Alhamdulillah everything went well. They discussed about my grandparents' house in Majidi and they decided not to sell it. They're goin to renovate it and rent it instead. It was actually my late Bak Tok's wish. He told one of my aunt not to sell the house. Maybe there's a hikmah over it. Insya Allah everything will be ok :)

13th Sept, Monday was our last day out with Alia. Yup, LAST! It was a really fine, tiring and full of food day to all us 3, Alia, Megat and I. We went for sushi at Sakae Sushi, Pavillion. Then, Mdm Kwan and later at Megat's house. We ate everything for less than 5 hours and my tummy was humongous. Ouch!

Despite from the tummy issue, we had loads of fun walking back and forth to Sg Wang-Pavillion just to buy a camera to bring to the UK. Pffft. But overall, I had free exercise by walking 1km to Sg Wang :D although it was damn tired.

It was a day to remember, I'm gonna miss Alia a lot, especially her high toned voice. Haha. Good luck Alia with your studies. Don't play play, Love you loads!

Yes, today topic is about babies.

Why?

Because it's all over the news. I am disappointed to hear about all these dead babies in the news, internet, papers, everywhere.

I've been reading Mazidul Akmal's blog and saw few blog entries about dead babies. They were found in Kelantan, Damansara Jaya, Kota Damansara and I believed there are more than that out there. As an adult female and a proud citizen of these country, I would like to help others about after sex/pregnancy etc.

Kids these days in need for "Sex Education" and free condoms given in school (health class) and also at the family clinic. What Afiq said in the video is totally true, our Malays & also non-Malays do not know about safe sex because they were not taught in school nor home. "Sex Education" or free condoms are not to be given to the kids nowadays to encourage them to have sex, NO!

As you all know, they already knew bout sex.

Where?

Easy! From the internet! Websites with free porn videos and of course, these videos are download-able. Other than that, those people who are selling pirated VCDs/DVDs do sell porn videos to the minors.

Why?

Money! They all wanted money $$$!

We can't do anything to the dead babies out there, but what we can do is help the unborn babies and the mothers. Teenagers or not, if you want to have sex, please please please do wear a protection. It's not just because of pregnancy, it can avoid you from having any infections, STD or HIV.

As mentioned in the video, you can buy the condoms at 7 Eleven. Other than that, you can buy it at KK Mart, Watsons, Guardian & etc. For the girls, you can always take birth control pills (not recommended though).

If you are too late, and you did get knocked up, here are few options you can choose....

Abortion?

Abortion is an option but it's not legal here. If you can find one and have the money to do the abortion, then go ahead. It's better abortion than leave your baby in the dumpster, right? It will cost you more than RM600 though. ( and there are always side effects)

Adoption?

Not every woman in these world can get pregnant, so why don't you give your baby (which you don't want) to others. You can leave them at the hospitals, orphanage, etc. ( I will give you some contacts at the end of the blog. ) BUT don't leave them at the dumpster or burn them while they are still alive. This is common sense people!! -_____-"

If you're having a hard time, like your boyfriend left you or he does not want to be responsible, and you're scared to tell your family, you can always go to your friends or shelter homes.

***& to the dear friends, please do advice them to go for abortion or adoption. Not throw away the baby at the river etc..
***& to parents/family, don't get shocked! Please be open and help your child. They need you the most. I know, having sex and got pregnant is a sin, but you can help them by making the right choice. Maybe, just maybe the one you heard from the news, is your own daughter, you'll never know.

Shelter homes can help you and take care of you. Yes, it's hard but that's life. Life is hard. Why do you have sex at the first place?

Boyfie went back to Kursk last Friday to continue his studies. Now, I'm all alone without him :,( For the past few weeks, I got to know him better, we've been to places that we've never been before, learn about family, life and how much we love each other. I am so blessed and grateful for having him as my boyfriend, and AT LAST, I'm really² happy :)

There's no words to describe how much and why do I love him, but I do love him as he is. I waited approx 11 months last year, and I'll wait another year for him, cause I know deep in my heart, that he is the one...the one can make me happy, smile, sad, angry, crazy at the same time :)

I love you M and thank you for everything. It was a hell of a ride. I'm gonna miss you so much, and I'll never forget you, I promise.

20 August 2010, 10 Ramadhan 1431, 10.00am (Msian Time), Friday - My bak tok, took his last breath at my aunt's house in Taman Daya, Johor Bahru. Bak Tok, a grandfather to us, great grandfather to Yasmin, Adlina & Ameera and a father to my mom, & her siblings passed away at the age of 92.

As I recall, bak tok was one of the strongest man alive, he went through a hard time years back. Bak Tok was a family man, he loved and cared bout his siblings, wife and children. Few decades ago, Bak Tok worked as a tailor at a local hospital, but he has 9 children and few siblings to take care of, so he worked part time selling kuih-muih (putu piring, tepung gomak & etc). He walked from home to the city of Johor Bahru, just to sell his kuih. He made the best putu piring and tepung gomak ever, even the Sultan of Johor bought kuih from him.

My mom always told me bout her past life, she told me that she went to class by bus, and walked so far from home with a pair of torn shoes. The shoes were her sister’s, they had to share shoes, clothes etc because they’re not rich. She even told me that..when my mom’s little sister was about to born, my mom had to walk to the city(more than 15km away) to tell bak tok the news. Can you imagine how my mom and her family live their life when they were young?

But few years after, the Johor government offered bak tok few millions RM for his property at the city of Johor (located next to Puteri Pacific Hotel). Bak tok was the eldest among his siblings, so when he got the money, he divided the money to all of his siblings and build a bungalow house at Jalan Orkid, Taman Dato’ Sulaiman Menteri, Majidi Baru, Johor for his wife and children. So, that’s where my mom, aunts, uncles, cousins and even me, grew up. A place once called home.

Bak tok stayed in KL, few months after my mak tok passed away (in 2006). He was a funny man, he likes to tell jokes to us, he even loves to eat bananas, which one was never enough. A month ago, bak tok was admitted to the hospital because of his lung. The doctor found some kind of bacteria at his lung due to his environmental stay. Two weeks after he was admitted, he was taken to the ICU. He can’t breathe without the oxygen & machines, we thought it was his time to go, but a week after, he was out of the hospital, healthy (of course he can’t jump nor run).

He told one of my aunt that he wanted to go back to JB and buried near my late mak tok’s grave. That was his wished even before he was admitted, so my aunt took bak tok to JB and stayed at my Aunty Bibah’s house in Taman Daya.

3 days after, he finally took his last breathe and was buried that evening. My parents and I arrived at his grave after the “Talkin” prayers, we didn’t arrive on time, JB’s traffic was madness! Bak tok got his last wishes came true, he got to be buried at Tanah Perkuburan Jalan Kebun Teh, at the same place my late mak tok and my late cousin, Ain binti Ahmad were buried.

Bak Tok was looking at Yasmin Marissa, his youngest great grand daughter.

Alhamdulillah, everything went well, had Tahlil with family after break fast that night and had a lil chit chat with aunts and cousins. Bak tok’s siblings all passed away before him, even his youngest sister passed away early this year. He left the world his 8 children, 1 adopted son, 13 grand children and 3 great grand children. We all love you Bak Tok, we can never repay you but will always pray for you and mak tok. AL-FATIHAH.

Loads been happening to me over the months, got a job in Subang Jaya, registered to a new college, and last but not least, my corazon came back from Kursk after 11 months and 2 weeks. :) Things between us went so well, in fact we are very much in love right now. He came back home, his attitude changed and trust me, he is the best boyfie I ever had! I never know he can be sweet and romantic at times. We did had a very difficult time, weeks before he came back, but thank god, I can put it all away. From the bottom of my heart, I do love him and he's the guys I wanna spend the rest of my life with.
